Holiday Wedding Ceremony at the Salish Lodge & Spa

Darrell and Amy are happily married - Kent Buttars, Seattle Wedding Officiant.

There is something about holiday weddings that make them very special.  Darrell and Robyn decided to exchange their vows on December 21st, the winter solstice.  (Absolutely love the solstice - the days will soon be getting longer.)

Luis and Mike wed at the Salish Lodge & Spa - Kent Buttars, Seattle Wedding Officiant

This is Luis and Miki - aren't they the most adorable?  Like all couples on their wedding day, these two were so very happy:  they simply radiated joy!

Luis, the groom, and Kent Buttars, Seattle Wedding Officiant, wait for the ceremony to begin.

Luis and Kent were ready and waiting for the ceremony to begin.  Don't they look pretty relaxed though?  This photo really makes me smile.

Morning Wedding at the Lower Woodland Pond of the Washington Park Arboretum

The bride and groom just before their ceremony - Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding OfficiantGene and Sarah have made their home in Jersey City but when it came time to wed, their hearts brought them to the Washington Park Arboretum.  (Sarah and her family had lived here in the past and loved it.)

The bride and groom made their wedding a destination for everyone.  They invited only their family and a few close friends.

We all gathered at the Graham Visitors Center at 10:00am on a Saturday morning.  Sarah and Gene shared their "first look" and then strolled to the wedding site.  The guests took the Azalea Way and the wedding party walked on another path, so there could be a procession through the woods to the pond.

The two selected the lower Woodland Pond with its deck out over the water to exchange their vows.  It is just big enough to accommodate their guests (a total of 13 people including them) and made a beautiful setting for the ceremony.  It is a very secluded, calm and quiet space.  Perfect for this size group.

Afterwards, photos were taken on the Arboretum grounds.  There were so many possibilities to choose from.

Wishing the Mr. and Mrs. a very bright and beautiful marriage, filled with vibrant adventures and peaceful interludes.

This morning was a treat!  Melissa and Amber traveled from Mississippi to wed in Seattle.  In preparation for the "big day," we talked about a number of places where they would enjoy sharing their marriage vows.  The two settled on Parsons Garden at 6:00am.  And, then photos are nearby Kerry Park.

The couple decided to wed near the entrance of the Garden.  It was a quiet time and the sun was just peeking over the tree line.

Amber and Melissa invested quite a bit of thought on the wording of their ceremony.  We all agree that words are important and they wanted to be sure that what was said on their wedding truly suited them.

Amber took some time and wrote these words of intent.

"Marriage is a binding commitment of trust, honesty, promise, and unconditional love. So many people spend their lives searching for true love and we are so fortunate to have found it in each other. It is our recognition and appreciation of this love that brings us here today. We are prepared to embrace this love wholeheartedly and mindfully with patience, respect, and understanding. Today is dedicated to this ultimate decision to share our life experiences, accomplishments, and dilemmas together as one for the rest of our lives."

"Just Married" at the Salish Lodge & Spa!

Mark and Jennifer are "Just Married" - Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding Officiant
nifer and Michael met in Texas and are settling in Seattle (at least for a time)!

The two are so in love and adorable to see together.

They selected these words to include in their ceremony:
True marriage begins well before the wedding day and the efforts of marriage continue well beyond the ceremony's end. A brief moment in time and the stroke of the pen are all that is required to create the legal bond of marriage but it takes a lifetime of love, commitment and compromise to make marriage durable and everlasting.

"Scientific Romance" Brings Humor to Abby and Ankur's Wedding Ceremony

Newly married Abby and Ankur kiss at Snoqualmie Falls - Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding Officiant
How romantic is this?

Ankur and Abby exchanged their wedding vows on a crisp January day.  It was one of those rare days when the Pacific Northwest is at it very best.

After taking photos on the grounds near the Falls, the couple returned to their suite and we began the ceremony.

Abby and Ankur selected a reading for their ceremony that was new to me and perfect for them!  They chose "Scientific Romance" by Tim Pratt (with a few modifications).  Here's one verse that made me chuckle.

If we were the sole survivors
of a zombie apocalypse
and you were bitten and transformed
into a walking corpse
I wouldn't even pick up my
assault shotgun,
I'd just let you take a bite
out of me, because I'd rather be
undead forever
with you
than alive alone
without you.

Time to kiss! Patricia Stimac, Seattle Wedding Officiant

Vows were made, rings exchanged and the deal was sealed with a kiss.
